Alexander
Apostolov was born in 1980 in New York City. In 1989
he began his private piano studies. At the age of 12, he started
Palm Beach
Dreyfoos Jr. School of the Arts, a Florida middle school and high
school, where he studied classical voice. In
1993 Apostolov joined the Palm Beach Opera’s children choir for the
production of La Boheme, introducing him to the joy of performing on an opera
stage. While still in High School, he became a member of Palm Beach Opera’s
choir.
In 1998 Alexander Apostolov continued his studies in classical voice at
University of Miami. He performed the roles of: Count Paris/Gregorio (Romeo &
Juliet), The Herald of the King (Cendrillon), Louis (The Wandering
Scholar), Sid (Albert Herring), Mr. Page (The Merry Wives of
Windsor), Waterman (Rusalka), and Sulpice (La
Fille du Regiment).
In 2001 he graduated
University of Miami and moved back to his hometown of
New York City to attend
Manhattan
School of Music (MSM). There he performed with several Baroque and Chamber
ensembles and in the production of Béatrice et Bénédict. Since graduating
with his Master’s from MSM as a Baritone in 2004, Alexander Apostolov has
transitioned up to his true voice with the help of several teachers, most
notably the Austrian tenor Michael Pabst.
Alexander Apostolov
resides in Vienna, Austria where he is currently participating in concert tours.
